Three observations firms consistently make when they run this on real numbers:

  1. It’s concentrated. Those 25 hours at 100 clients don’t spread politely across the month — they pile into close week, exactly when capacity is scarcest.
  2. It’s your most interruptible work. Collection is done in inbox-sized fragments that shred focus for the work around it.
